McCARES had a real treat meeting all the wonderful pets that came to Tractor Supply to have their photos taken with Santa. The fundraiser was held to raise money for our up coming "MATCH DAY" in November. The pets were all very well behaved and enjoyed their treats while waiting to sit with Santa. Thank you to all who came and supported us and a BIG Thank You to Santa and Tractor Supply.

Big Rapids Community Library Program

Some of the topics were - buying pets, pet adoption, how to properly approach a dog, the role of an animal control officer, and many other topics.

Helping Our Our Four-Legged Friends

During the month of July, the Big Rapids Community Library, Mecosta County Cares, and West Michigan Credit Union collected food, toys, and other items to benefit the Mecosta County Animal Shelter. Participants of the Library’s Summer Reading Program who donated items were entered into a drawing for special end-of-summer prizes. Library patrons also enjoyed a special program with members of MC Cares and some of their animal friends on July 20, 2011 at City Hall
